Privacy Policy

HWP Tools ("we", "the service") is a browser-based tool for opening and converting HWP/HWPX documents. We designed it to collect as little data as possible.

Your files

When you convert a file, it is uploaded to our server, processed in memory, and deleted immediately after the conversion completes. We do not write your documents to disk, we do not keep copies, and we do not read, share, or sell their contents. There is no account and nothing about your file is retained after your request finishes.

Analytics

We use privacy-friendly, cookieless analytics (Plausible) to see aggregate usage — page views and anonymous event counts such as "a conversion completed". This data contains no personal information, no file names, and no file contents, and it cannot be used to identify you. No advertising or cross-site tracking cookies are set.

Payments

Payments are processed by Paddle, our Merchant of Record. When you buy a pass, your payment details are entered directly into Paddle's checkout and handled by Paddle — we never see or store your card number. Paddle's privacy terms apply to that transaction. To restore a purchased pass we issue a signed link; no account or stored profile is created.

Abuse prevention

To prevent abuse of the free service we temporarily process your IP address to count daily usage. This is held in memory only and is not linked to your files or to any identity.

Third-party services

Our site is served through Cloudflare and hosted on Railway, which process network requests to deliver the service. See open-source licenses for the software we build on.
